Oops.
Somehow I completely missed this video when it was first noted online last Fall. Found out about it via Chris Brogan mentioning it on Twitter.
So cool.
We may have had our biggest turnout at last night's Exploit Boston Game Night. Somewhere between 60-70 people were there. I didn't realize it until someone told me (and gave me a cute little clipping) that it was written up in The Weekly Dig again. This time it was an excellent and somehow snark-free paragraph. Now we just need to get into the Phoenix, Boston Herald and Boston Magazine (though it was at least listed in Boston Magazine's online calendar a few months ago).
I'm finally going to get around to working on adding a second night to the monthly adventure. Kristen very awesomely introduced me to someone at Fire & Ice in Harvard Square so we are going to look into that as another spot to have the event along with the one at Soul Fire.
Yesterday I bought Michael and I our tickets to see The Tragically Hip. They are going to be in town at the Avalon on Friday, April 20th. This is by far the absolute world's greatest band to see live. Gord Downie has a stage presence that is nothing short of inspired. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. They are huge in their homeland of Canada but haven't seen mega success in the US. Which means it's always lots easier to get concert tickets to see them at smaller-ish venues than it really should be!
If you want to experience something spectacular, get a ticket and join me and Michael at the show.
Have you ever met any celebrities? Any interesting stories?

I rode in an elevator once with Harrison Ford.
I'm not one to be melodratic about being sick but egads -- this cold/plague/whatever-you-call it returned on Thursday after lingering off and on throughout most of the month. Last time I had a bad cough was during the summer and my doctor told me to just take some over the counter medicine. This time I guess he was convinced it might turn into bronchitis so I've got antibiotics. I can definitely tell it's helping; but alas, not fast enough. I'm going to miss The SnowLeopards CD release party tonight at TT's. They are the first band to thank me on a CD's liner notes. Fun! I was going to try to get a big group of people via the Boston Rocks group at HLG that I run but this cough has really done a number on me. It looks like at last a handful of people plan to meet up and Kristen is going to fill in for me as meetup person. Cheers to Kristen!
Since I got home from the doctor on Friday I have watched five episodes of season one of Twin Peaks, watched Eddie Izzard's "Dress to Kill" DVD, drank two big bottles of Vitamin Water and two big bottles of Fiji water, consumed one large bowl of chicken noodle soup from Pho Pasteur (or whatever that new name of theirs is) and slept and slept and slept. Michael picked up a humidifier for the bedroom and that has been a big help.
Next weekend needs to be jam packed with fun after all this forced hibernation.
Kier Byrnes from Three Day Threshold and cohorts hosted Rodfest V on Friday, January 19th at the Paradise Rock Club. It was the fifth year for the event that turned into a benefit concert three years ago after Kier's cousin Rodney died in a car accident. They had a goal to raise $8,000 Friday night for a scholarship fund but ended up raising $20,000!
I took a bunch of photos at the shindig. The full album is over on Flickr.
