Late summer and early fall in New England remind me why I chose to live here. Last Saturday, in the company of some of our USRA referee colleagues, Amanda and I enjoyed a delightful evening on the porch of the Annisquam Yacht Club.
A gentle breeze, boats moving slowly along the water in the dying wind of evening, no pesky mosquitos . . . it just doesn't get any better. The whole scene was, in the words of our host, "right out of a Ralph Lauren commercial."
Given the unrest in the world today, and the hardships that many must endure without a break, I count moments like this as a blessing from a merciful creator.
